The book is well written, The detail provided in describing the battles, put you right there in the middle of it! Cain is portrayed As a fierce, combative warrior who uses strategies to conquer. But when he meets Ella, he is intrigued! And amused! And Ella is stubborn and combative back. Cain is steadfast in his desire to figure out Ella, but also to conquer the Sutherland clans and their lands! Follow their merry chase, Make your own guesses as to what the strategy is and who's the villains and this good guys! There's a twist at the end you won't see it coming! But you'll be happy it did!

I've had 1 or 2 of Heather's Books on my Kindle on my phone for a bit but was always reading something else. I'm a Big fan of Highland Warrior books but not all are done well & I've learned I'm a bit of a... Snob? I guess is the right word. But a bit of a snob when it comes to these books. The ones that aren't done right (In my personal opinion. 1 that is probably the furthest from real as I can get! 🤣 Bc I'm not a Scottish Warrior tho I am married to a warrior so I get LOTS of lectures when watching movies or discussing different things about "how it's REALLY done!" So.. idk it's just a quirk. But I'm so VERY VERY glad I chose to read 1 of these & that despite my thoughts about the likely best 1 for me, I chose to still read the 1st book in the series 1st bc even if they can all be standalone books, you get a better set up & history & overview of all the characters. This book BLEW ME AWAY! Highly recommend others read it as well! It was very well done & well paced! I started around 1pm & just finished a bit B4 8pm. & That's only bc I had to take a couple breaks to pick up children from school & feed them!

I've read over 80 novels in the past 6 months. This is definitely a favorite.Great characters and story development.

My new favorite author and book. Cain and Ella's story was amazing! From the first pages to the end, I couldn't put it down. I'm a great fan of Heathers writing style and I can't wait to buy more

I have enjoyed this book. Cain and Ella had a lot of ups and downs but they came together as man and wife in the end. I just wish the story would include more after they marry.
